This Week’s Events: March 4th through March 9th.

There’s always something going on in Enfield. Whether it’s a meeting of local government, a fundraiser, a sporting event or just something that might be fun for the family, we encourage you to take part in what our community has to offer. Here are just a few of the events taking place this week:

Monday, March 4th:

Enfield Town Council: The Enfield Town Council meets at Enfield Town Hall (820 Enfield St) at 7:00PM on 3/4/2019. The Council will have several special guests. And as always there will be the opportunity for public communications. This is your chance to let your voice be heard and let the Town Council know what you think about things happening in town.

Enfield Toastmasters: Want to work on your public speaking skills and turn that into becoming a better citizen and leader? The next Toastmasters meeting is on 3/4/2019 at 7:00PM at the St. Joseph’s Residence at 1365 Enfield St. For more information, please call Mike Finn at 413-364-2401.

Public Hearing On Transportation Authority: Beginning at 7:30AM on 3/4/2019 at the Legislative Office Building (210 Capital Ave. in Hartford), the Transportation Committee will hold public hearings on a bill regarding the formation of a State Transportation Authority. The hearing begins at 10:30AM in room 1E and speaker order will be determined by a lottery running from 7:30AM to 9:00AM in room 2401. For those wishing to submit written testimony, please either bring 55 copies to the hearing or you may submit via email to TRAtestimony@cga.ct.gov (please include relevant bill number(s) in the subject line).

Storytime Registration: Storytime prepares children for a lifelong learning and love of reading. Registration for this program will begin at 9:00AM on 3/4/2019 at the Enfield Public Library. For more information, please call the library at 860-763-7518 or 860-763-7512.

Wednesday, March 6th:

Meet Author Linda Cardillo: The Enfield Public Library will be hosting award-winning author Linda Cardillo on 3/6/2019 at 6:30PM. She will be sharing her new book: Love That Moves The Sun. The event is free. Simply call 860-763-7512 to register.

Thursday, March 7th:

Senior Living: Senior Living is a public access television series and will air on Cox Public Access Channel 15 (in the Enfield area) on 3/7/2019 at 6:30PM. Dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of adults in Enfield and surrounding communities, this week’s episode will feature Sheila Grady, Manager of the Senior Center, as she highlights her role and program opportunities available.

Saturday, March 9th:

NCCCC Home & Product Show: The North Central Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 50th annual Home & Product show on March 9th and 10th at the former East Windsor Wal-Mart (69 Prospect Hill Road, East Windsor next door to Big Y). There will be more than 100 local vendors, live entertainment and demonstrations as well as a food court and a Family Fun Zone. Hope to see you there.
